How to Obtain a South Dakota Bar Application

The application to sit for the Bar Exam in South Dakota must be obtained from the South Dakota Bar Examiners. The request for the application may be obtained by writing to: The Board of Bar Examiners, State Capitol, 500 E. Capitol, Pierre, SD 57501 or by calling 605-773-4898.

 

South Dakota Rules and Regulations For Admission to Practice

Please visit the Board of Bar Examiners website, available from the South Dakota Unified Judicial System site.  A wealth of helpful information is available, including complete text of the Rules & Regulations (also linked to on the left), Computer Registration, and transfer of scores.  There are even sample Indian Law essay questions available!
