Suggested State Legislation - Council of State Governments

Suggested State Legislation (SSL) is a series of compilations of draft legislation about topics of current importance to states. The Council of State Governments publishes SSL drafts in annual SSL volumes.  As stated on the SSL website CSG does "not seek to influence the enactment of state legislation, but to compile draft legislation so states can learn from the experience of others."

The Native American Rights Fund (NARF) National Indian Law Library's Tribal Law Gateway provides access to instructions on how to locate materials on model tribal code and code drafting.

 

Using WorldCat to Locate Historical Topic Specific Legislative Drafting Resources

Worldcat is an international, multi-disciplinary catalog of books, Internet resources, audio visual materials, manuscripts, maps, sound recordings and other materials held by over 20,000 OCLC libraries.  Using an advanced search with terms such as "legislation drafting" and your topic in the title will help locate sources.  However, many of the resources located may be historical in nature.  Several such sources on drafting water codes and juvenile codes may be located.
